Republican State Senate Draw Super-Jewish District

The Daily News is reporting today that republicans in State Senate held to their ground, proposing a Super-Jewish Borough Park district. Common wisdom was that Kruger's district will be redrawn as the Super-Jewish district, but Kruger's resignation, and the probable Fidler win, complicates the republican plans to capture his district. The whole idea is under a veto threat by Governor Cuomo.

The maps for the State Legislature are now expected tomorrow. They will also, reportedly, include a newly-drawn Asian Assembly district that will cut into David Weprin's possibly jeopardizing his reelection chances (what a turn of fortunes in less than a year), and a 63rd State Senate seat in the Albany area. Work on Congressional maps hasn’t started until this week, according to an insider's account to the Record.
