Bike-less In Williamsburg; Anti Nydia ad; Recount; & More Links

Hasidic Williamsburg was mostly left out from the bike share program. I guess they want to put bikes where people will actually use them.

Jason Ontano is reportedly planning a state senate run against Marty Malave Dilan. It was first reported by Yossi Gestetner, raising suspicions of a commenter on my site. The move clarifies Ontano's relationship (rather non-relationship) with Vito Lopez.

The InnoavationPAC's KnockOutNydia campaign, first reported on OP, released a funny anti-Nydia video, describing her as fake democrat hiding her Wall Street money. Sorry, the metaphor is something that doesn't fit in an Ultra-Orthodox blog... Dan Backer, speaking for the PAC, said that anybody would be better than Nydia.“A wet rag would be better than Nydia in my opinion, and you can quote me on that,” he's quoted by Politicker. As reported on OP, the group's poll fount that Dan O'Connor is a bit more popular than Erik Dilan.

The Satmar camp story moved on to the courts, where the aranites accuse the county of siding with the zalanites.

The hand recount in Fidler vs. Storobin race is expected to last 25 full days, and it will end on June 21st, the same day the legislature will end their session for the year. It is the first ever such a recount here, and may turn into legal squabbles over the intent of not fully marked ballots. Barring an emergency session, the winner will never cast a vote in the State Senate.

Politicker reported that Hakeem Jeffries raised Charles Baron's antisemitic comments an interview with the Hamodia. It appeared in the same edition where Bob Turner tried to make his pitch to Jewish voters in his senate race.

Dov Hikind is one of 4 democrats in the assembly to vote against a minimum wage increase.

The court denied a request for an injunction against the newly created legislature districts. That means these maps are final, at least for the next legislature session. (It will be fun if the maps will be redrawn afterwards, bringing another volatile redistricting election year...)

The Daily Kos is putting NY18 (Hayworth, KJ) in the leaning republican column. Hayworth is one of five threatened members of congress for whom the congressional leadership organized a special patriot day fundraiser today.
