Carl Kruger asked – and the Judge in the case forwarded the request to the Bureau of Prison - to be incarcerated in the Otisville Federal prison. He cites the availability of kosher food in the prison. Kruger is Jewish, but his observance is something new (is he thinking about running for the Super-Jewish one day?). Otisville was described by Forbes as one of the nation’s “10 Cushiest Prisons,” and it’s a destination for Orthodox prisoners. Kruger’s co-defendant will also be housed in Otisville, primarily to enable for his mother to visit him.
In other news, the powerful DC37 union, NYC’s largest public employee union with 125,000 members, will endorse Charles Barron in his primary race against Hakeem Jeffries, according a report by Politicker to multiple sources. It’s Barron’s biggest boost in a campaign that Jeffries is expected to win.
