The notorious Jerusalem Police Commissioner Nisso Shaham, who made a name for himself by his brutalities against the Jerusalem Ultra Haredim and against Gaza settlers, is now being investigated on reports of assaulting a policewoman. Shaham was forced to take a leave of absence. His Superior, commander of the Zion precinct, was also placed on leave for possibly knowing about Shaham's disgraceful acts and failing to act.
During the 2005 disengagement, Shaham was caught on tap telling his officers to: use water cannons unconditionally. Don’t call me. Go for the water cannons. I know these religious. Shit upon them. Jpost is reporting that: Right-wing activists celebrated Nisso’s leave on Thursday.
Activist Itamar Ben Gvir noted it was “symbolic” that Nisso was forced to take
leave on the eve of the anniversary of the disengagement, which is on Sunday.
“Only the police and the public security minister didn’t absorb the fact that
they’re talking about a rude man that is involved in crime and should not be a
candidate for inspector general,” said MK Michael Ben Ari (National Union).
Shaham was very heavy-handed against his critics, arresting people suspected in forwarding pamphlets of him in Nazi uniforms.
