“Over the last two years, Lincoln has demonstrated remarkable drive, energy and creativity in helping to improve the quality of life of people throughout the Fort Greene and Clinton Hill communities... We have worked closely together on behalf of public housing residents and he has demonstrated the significant impact a talented, progressive and engaged elected official can have in Brooklyn. I am proud to endorse him for re-election,” he said in a statement.

In the Williamsburg area, Marty Dilan was endorsed by Congressman-to-be Hakeem Jeffries. “Assemblyman Jeffries has worked closely with Senator Dilan in Albany on legislation important to the community, and supports his re-election to enable that work to continue on behalf of the neighborhoods they both represent,” Mr. Jeffries campaign said in a subsequent statement.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Restler is receiving help with fund raising from a millionaire Bill Samuels who helped defeat Pedro Espada.
Someone else threw in his hat into the race for Tish James' seat in 2013. Khari Edwards, an aide to Senator John Sampson who previously worked for Governor David Paterson was schedules to have a campaign kickoff event tonight. He's joining a field that includes Councilman Jumaane Williams’ former Chief of Staff Ede Fox and Occupy Wall Street activist Jelani Mashariki.
Joseph Berger, who recently covered the Satmar results in Velazquez-Dilan race for the NY Times, is not assigned to the Orthodox community, he tells the Jewish Week. And The Jewish Week saw his familiarity or insights with the Satmars, for 'he called the camps — as the Satmars do — the “Zaloynim” and the “Aroynem.”'
The Jewish Week reporter, Ari Goldman, is marveling on a memorable quote from a chasidic Jew named Isaac Abraham, who seemed surprised at very premise of the story. Berger quoted him as saying: “Does anybody ask a congressman why he walks into Congress with a suit or a Wall Street executive why he goes to work in a suit?”
Interestingly, that same writer, Ari Goldman, already quoted Abraham in 1989, when working for the Times, and I can't believe that he haven't communicated with him when he covered the Crown Heights riots for the Times. How can he be a reporter in NY, without knowing of Abraham? I haven't seen another guy who is make it so often into the press, like Issac. If not for politics, it is for his wife's Ice Cream hobbies, or his former worker's disability. The only one who can compete with the number of quotes and photos, and whose family also gains on his popularity, is probably Alexander Rappaport, . who does great work through his Masbia Kitchen.

And up in KJ, a Soros Super PAC is spending to defeat Nan Hayworth.
