Vito-Nydia Similarity; Storobin Cut Taxes; & More

Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez is out for revenge and is widening her battle against those who sided with her opponent, Erik Dilan. A longtime political operative tells me that these hard knuckle tactics are not surprising. "She and (Democratic County Chair) vito (Lopez) have a lot in common in that way -- long history there." Still, he's suspecting that it is "mostly hot air," except for several races near her base.

In the same Perez Note piece, there are more insights into next year's race for Diana Reyna's seat and for Erik Dilan's. Assemblyman Rafael Espinal is expected to run for the Dilan seat, according to the post.

Lincoln Restler is blaming Vito Lopez and redistricting for eviction, for a move that happened before the redistricting. He did it, though, because he knew Vito will evict him...

Everybody is laughing, but Malcolm Smith is seriously planning a mayoral race on the republican line, and he's already campaigning for the Orthodox vote. In an interview with Yossi Gestetner, he praised Yeshivos, and attacked Bloomberg for the proposal against oral suction in circumcisions. He may be the wrong candidate, but he touched an right button.

While Simcha Felder is collection petitions to run on the Tax Cut Now party, David Storobin already cut taxes, though not in NY... He convinces Germany to drop a tax for US seniors in their Holocaust compensation payments. (More entertainment on the tax issue).

Also, Simcha lauds the Paul Ryan pick for VP.

David Storobin wants Simcha to join him on is Israel trip. Meanwhile, Dan Halloran, his travel companion to Israel, is coming under attack by Grace Meng for his support for Ron Paul, who isn't supportive of Israel.
