Flatbush 2012 Campaign Season Starts

The campaign for Carl Kruger's State-Senate district, that includes big chunks of Flatbush and small parts of Borough Park, already started, and is widely discussed to be redrawn as Super-Jewish district - already started, though we have almost a year to go to the elections. Councilman Lew Fidelr, who will be ousted by term limits in 2013, took out full page ads in today's Hamodia touting his assistance to Yeshivos and Tzadakah causes.

While Kruger was widely believed to leave office due his resignation, Capital NY's Azi Paybarah points out that this may have changed due to recent prosecution setbacks. This means that Fidler will have to face an incumbent, in a yet-undrawn district, before a possible contest with a strong republican candidate.

It seems that Heimish pundtis and newspaper will have a busy year.
