Congressman Ed Towns is catching up with fund raising against his opponent Hakeem Jeffries. In the last quarter he outraised Jeffries, receiving $233,472.36 vs. $105,467.43 for Jeffries. Jeffries is still way ahead with cash on hand, amounting to $235,962, versus vs. $162,407 for Towns. Jeffries criticized Towns for receiving most of his money from PACs.

In other news, Assemblyman Roy I. Lancman announced that he's planning to run on the democratic line against Rep. Bob Turner.
