Queens for Towns; WFP for Jeffries

Ed Towns had some good news today, when the Queens County Democratic Committee threw their support behind them, splitting with the Vito Lopez’s Kings County Democratic machine. Several Queens neighborhoods will make up a small portion (6.5%) of Towns’ 8th district. At least they are closer to home and to his party, than his Californian Republican colleague Daryl Issa whom Towns recently brought to a foreclosure hearing in Brooklyn to get a boost. That hearing brought extra scrutiny about on the big banks’ donations to Towns, whom is now targeting, and it may revive the VIP Countrywide loan that Towns’ received while going easy on them.

Jeffries won the more important WFP support. Besides their organization that may help him win in the primary, it may give him a good second chance in the general election if Charles Baron wins the primaries (Baron will never win, but you never know in politics).
