Retaliation: Hayon Face Republican Opposition

While Brooklyn Republican Chairman Craig Eaton hails his party's renaissance, that was reaffirmed by the Storobin win, he have to deal with party infighting that surround Joseph Hayon's candidacy against Helene Weinstein. According to Hayon, elements in republican and conservative party are out to retaliate for his endorsement for Maragos for US senate, against local kid Bob Turner. Some of the infighting is evident on the Atlas Shrugs blog comments - the blog that first revealed his candidacy (I can't navigate this site, where all the action seems to be in the comment section, but Joseph tells me that this is where the news was leaked).

Hayon is prepared for the Republican Party to put former City Council Candidate, Gene Berardelli, to run against him in the 41st Assembly District. But he's certain that "the Republican Chairman, Craig Eaton, is not the one involved in this political retaliation. He works hard for the Republican Party on a volunteer basis." He also thinks he might lose the conservative line for going against Turner.

And you can't take a brake of the democratic infighting either. Brad Lander is defying County Chair Lopez, and raises money for Velazquez. It me be to better position himself for a possible Borough President candidacy. State Senator Daniel Squadron, who is actively fund raising for a race for the presidency, is also close to reformers and will endorse Nydia Velazquez on Sunday, according to reports.

And the last report from Gatemouth is a real bombshell: Congressman Towns will report his former opponent Charles Barron for Congress. Wow: bitterness have real power!

Meanwhile, President Obama's largest African American bundle will host a fundraiser next week for Jeffries.

And Jacob Kornbluh tries to drive a wedge between Simcha and democratic voters in the district, by translating a Hebrew magazine where Simcha denied that he endorsed Obama in 2008.

Lew Fidler traded the State Senator-ship for a kidney. He didn't really wanted to win... But it took him a while to figure that out...
