Overdue Public Advocate Observation and Other Links

The Public Advocate race is indeed shaping up to have 2 serious contender from Williamsburg. Here is a pile up from recent developments on this race.

State Senator Squadron raised the most for his planned public advocate race, and has $400,000 on hand, while councilwoman Letitia James' fund raising also picked up. And the endorsement race also started. Mr. Squadron picked up an endorsement from Assemblyman Kellner, who likes Vito Lopez and recently endorsed Erik Dilan for congress.

Colin Campbell is certain that Squadron will not be endorsed by Vito. I'm wondering if Vito wouldn't want to have him off his back and the opportunity to nominate a loyalist in the special election for Squadron's seat Gatemouth is correcting me that a majority voters of the district are in Manhattan, and the Manhattan chair will probably nominate a Silver-ally to the seat. Also, Ms. James isn't on Vito's side, and I don't know about the third candidate, and a fourth just entered the race.

In unrelated news, Steve Levin and David Greenfield joined Brad Lander's participatory budget, where  constituents can vote how to allocate part of the discretionary funding handed out by them.

And in upstate, KJ, Nan Hayworth raised $467,599 and enjoys a war chest of 1.4 million, versus versus $320,000 that her opponent raced and the $267,000 he has on hand. Hayworth is attacking Sean Patrick Maloney as a carpetbagger.
