SD17 - SuperJewish
According to an Independence Party Committee member, Simcha Felder was offered to appear in their line but turned it down due to the party's connections Lenora Fulani who made antisemitic comments. Gatemouth already sent kudos for Simcha (don't remember in which post), but Jacob Kornbluh reports that Simcha would have lived with Fulani, but his issue was a suggestion that he should face David Storobin in a primary for the party's line (are they doing actual primaries?).
Felder isn't sure with Dean Skelos support, either. According to Yossi Gestetner a senior Skeols aide attended a fund raiser for Storobin were the candidate raked in a nice amount.
David Storobin was once described as a "regular shul-goer", but what is he doing there? He played golf when others davened, but someone else was also checking his cell-phone. As a regular shul-goer, I'm surprised that only one did it. Not that I approve it...
And Felder isn't only hesitant to face off Storobin in a primary, but also refused a golf match-up. When Storobin offered it, he excused that he have to catch Maariv.
And some are still dwelling on the past. Jerry Skurnik analyzed the names of the voters in the Special election, granting the surprising win for the Republican. He found that likely-Jewish made up a much larger percentage in the special than in regular elections. I'm told that he will do a similar examination on NY-07 elections to determine the Jewish portion of the votes, and I asked that he should brake it down by the EDs. I hope that his colleague passed it on. This will help me a lot in my unilateral debate with Yossi.
And the Daily News profiled the Tischler brothers, who filed to face off in the democratic primaries against Felder and Hikind. The handed in much more than the needed signatures, and they were dressed and acted like they have a real shot. And here is more on the petition numbers.
Will be back with more.
