Assemblywoman Rhoda Jacobs Endorses Democratic City Council Candidate Chaim Deutsch for the New York City Council

This is a press release sent out by Chaim Deutch's campaign:

Assemblywoman Rhoda Jacobs announced today her endorsement of local community leader Chaim Deutsch in his bid to represent the 48th New York City Council district, which includes sections of Midwood, Sheepshead Bay, Brighton Beach and Manhattan Beach.
"I am proud to stand behind Chaim Deutsch in his election campaign," Jacobs said. "Over the years, I have come to consider him a true partner in our work to make Brooklyn a better place to work and live.
"Chaim Deutch's tireless efforts on behalf of our communities transcend differences in backgrounds or beliefs," Jacobs added, noting that Mr. Deutsch is known throughout Brooklyn for his work in forming the Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol and the East Flatbush Civilian Patrol Group.
Jacobs emphasized, "Chaim Deutsch has proven himself to be a committed community advocate who works to make our neighborhoods better and safer for our families, and is a well-known community activist who has experience working with diverse constituencies."

Update: It's noteworthy that Jacobs won reelection last year in a race where many have written her off, given the overwhelming minority community in the district. She prove all skeptics wrong, demonstrating that reputation and a good campaign can overcome sectarian politics. Chaim is similarly situated with an additional advantage of having more than one opponent in the Russian community, but this may be outweighed by the lack if incumbency. In total, he's well positioned replicate her success.
