City Hall news released it's 6th annual 40 under 40 list. At least two political players in the Heimish community are on it. Rachel Goodman, the talented Chief of Staff to Councilman Brad Lander, and Lincoln Restler, who won his District Leader race thanks to the Aronim support in Williamsburg, against a Vito Lopez-Zali candidate.
In 2008, State Senator Daniel Squadron - fresh from his win in the Dem primaries in Williamsburg and Manhattan with Aronim support - made the list. Councilman Steve Levin topped the list a year thereafter, also fresh from winning a primary in Williamsburg, but with Zali support, defeating Hasidic candidate Issac Abraham. Also that year, now elected Assemblyman Phillip Goldfeder made the list, as a Schumer staffer.
But some on prior years' lists saw their fortunes change since than. For example Stefanie Fedak, a 25 year risee on last year's list, than Chief of Staff to Councilman David Greenfield, recently had a somewhat public fallout with the councilman. She still have 4 years to be a "Matzav Maker," but I doubt anyone in Texas will know what that means.
Mazel Tov to the risees, and hope Orthodox Pundit makes it next year.
