Hayworth Spox in Acid Controversy Resigns; Daily News Against Greenfield Bill

Rep. Nan Hayworth's spokesman Jay Townsend, who posted on Facebook about hurling acid on female senators professing to fight for women rights, resigned to day. One of her opponents, Richard Becker who started the storm against the comment, is trying to capitalize on the resignation, in his struggle for the democratic nomination, where Sean Patrick Maloney, who's running on an impressive resume and was ahead in fund raising in the race for the 18th congressional district that includes the upstate village Kiryas Joel.

And in the city, the Daily News editorial board criticized Councilman David Greenfield's bill to require all bikers to ware helmets, for meddling into people affairs. It believes that it's especially senseless with the bike sharing program (question to the News: is it that hard to include a helmet with each bike rather than summons?).

Flashback: Greenfield was once outspoken against government's intrusive airport searches, creating a website to report TSA abuse. He may have a change of hard since then: the site doesn't work anymore...
